I am concerned with the formal attitude and contrived manipulation of materials. My work is mostly designed on paper before it becomes real, and drawing is a favorite mode of artistic expression for me.
Glass has many characteristics which continue to intrigue me and inspire me. It's precious nature, the visual phenomena associated with glass, it's nearly automatic demand of respect from the artist and spectators alike; the history and tradition of the medium as a special thing; all add to my attitudes toward glass and provide vague boundaries for my imagination.
